Welcome to the December issue of Creanord EchoNEWS. Creanord EchoNEWS aims to keep you informed of the latest developments at Creanord and in the fields of automated Ethernet service delivery, SLA assurance and Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM).

This Christmas issue covers the new features coming out by the end of 2008 with the EchoVault release 3.3. We will also introduce a new Whitepaper titled Automating Managed Ethernet Access and Backhaul.

Introducing EchoVault 3.3
Creanord EchoVault release 3.3 introduces numerous new features including NID routing table support and Embedded Oracle installation improvements. A key new feature with release 3.3 is a called EchoVault Tasks.

It used to be a job for the night owls to execute a Firmware upgrade for business critical networks. With EchoVault release 3.3, the EchoVault user is able to create a scheduled task to automate the complete Firmware upgrade operation. Selecting any number of EchoAgent enabled NIDs for batch firmware upgrade and scheduling the time for the task is enough to get your well deserved beauty sleep. Rest assured as the EchoVault also monitors the complete task flow for you.

Driven By EchoAgent The framework developed will be able to be used for other jobs than firmware upgrades e.g. RFC-2544 test scheduling.

Whitepaper - Automating Managed Ethernet Access and Backhaul
Large enterprises and mobile operators are demanding carrier-grade QoS as they migrate their legacy networks to the Ethernet. Due to the large number of sites and customers in modern networks, the configuration of Ethernet services must be fast and easy. At the same time the service needs proper QoS monitoring to ensure that the provided service meets the quality targets and customer SLAs.
