Welcome to the January issue of Creanord EchoNEWS. Creanord EchoNEWS aims to keep you informed of the latest developments at Creanord
and in the fields of automated Ethernet service delivery, SLA assurance and Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM).
This issue will introduce a new member of Creanord Managed Ethernet Access devices. The EtherNID GE-100M replaces and outperforms the EtherNID OE and EE models.
This years Ethernet Expo Europe takes place in London 13th and 14th of May. We are looking forward to meeting you there!
Introducing EtherNID GE-100M
Creanord is proud to introduce a new member of the EtherNID family - EtherNID GE-100M. This new product is identical to EtherNID GE with an exception of client port
speed being 10/100 Mbps. The EtherNID GE-100M is remotely upgradable to full 1000 Mbps speed with a separate activation key. The activation keys can be purchased individually
for each EtherNID GE-100M needed to be upgraded.
Compared to the discontinued EtherNID EE and OE models the EtherNID GE-100M is fully featured offering several technical and operational advantages with the same price
as the EtherNID EE and OE models before.
Advantages of EtherNID GE-100M compared to EtherNID EE and OE
- Full Creanord EchoAgent support
- Silicon-based Fast-thru™ packet processing engine supports natively Gigabit speed
- 10/100 Mbps Client port (RJ45-A and SFP-A)
- 10/100/1000 Mbps Network port (RJ45-B and SFP-B)
- Client port is remotely upgradable to 1000 Mbps with activation key
- Optical SFP ports (mix and match SFP-A/B with 2 integrated RJ45-A/B ports)
- L2/L3 RFC-2544 Test Traffic Generator (In-service & Out-off-Service)
For operations this means that one hardware model covers installations from 1 Mbps to 1000 Mbps, only one hardware model needs to be stocked and supported and the Service Delivery
can be fully automated with EchoAgent.
Easy up-selling path is welcomed by service providers as more revenue is generated when customers are upgrading their network connections beyond 100 Mbps.
